As soon as I joined Unify Square, monitoring and analytics for Lync and Skype for Business (SfB), that was just a part of my previous work experiences, has become more essential.
The above change and the conversations I had with some of our customers pushed me to do some reflections about different aspects of the Microsoft solution.
One of them is related to Software Defined Networking.

While Software Defined Networking (SDN) not something that we can define “new” in the management of network architectures, its adoption in Lync or Skype for Business deployment is not something I have seen often.
Since 2013, Microsoft has offered a free SDN API infrastructure to send Lync or SfB diagnostic data.
