Some times ago there was a really interesting announcement from the Lync Team Blog (July 2013 Updates for the Lync 2013 Desktop Client ) about new features included in the aforementioned update.
The complete list includes: Embedded Images, Meetings View, IM Mute and Q&A Manager (the last two also require the July Lync Server update).
However I think it is a little complicated to find the link to download the aforementioned client update.
