{"id":2243,"date":"2021-03-02T10:06:59","date_gmt":"2021-03-02T10:06:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/modern-workplace.uk\/?p=2243"},"modified":"2021-09-09T15:39:41","modified_gmt":"2021-09-09T15:39:41","slug":"teams-virtual-sbc-closing-azure-network-ports-warnings-for-azureloadbalancer-and-virtualnetwork-2-2-2-2-3","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/modern-workplace.uk\/?p=2243","title":{"rendered":"Teams &#8211; Direct Routing &#8211; How to Test Emergency Numbers (999 and 112) in the United Kingdom (UK)"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"has-normal-font-size\">As a part of every testing script for a new phone system (in this case <strong>Direct Routing<\/strong>) it is important to verify that also the emergency numbers (999 and 112 in the United Kingdom) are reachable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-normal-font-size\">Said so, misusing the 999 system and dialing it for non-emergency matters could cost lives, slowing down response to genuine emergencies by tying up an operator. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-normal-font-size\">So, what is the right approach to this one? After a lot of searching around, I found the right answer and some guidance <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-large-font-size\">What to do:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-normal-font-size\">\u2022 <strong>Write an email to <span class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-cyan-blue-color\">999testcalls (at) bt.com<\/span> stating the phone number(s) you are going to use in the test and the time and date you would like to perform the test<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-large-font-size\">General Principles: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-normal-font-size\">\u2022 Communicate the date, approximate time (e.g. a 2 hour time slot) and the numbers you expect the operator to see<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-normal-font-size\"><br>\u2022 Where possible calls should be made between 09.00 \u2013 17.00, Monday \u2013Friday. Try avoiding evenings and weekends because they are the busiest times<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-normal-font-size\"><br>\u2022 If you intend to make a large number of calls please try and give at least 48 hours\u2019 notice<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-normal-font-size\">\u2022 There is no test environment.
